Update on the end of the school year 2022-2023
Uno in filosofia e l’altro in teologia fondamentale.

I outline below the background for the formation of this thesis since it can explain the motivation, originality,…

Rijo Jose Thalakottoor, O.Carm
My maiden visit to Italy was in 2014, and its scope was higher studies. Consequently, I became a member of Cisa community and enrolled in the Gregorian Pontifical University in 2015. I completed my Licentiate in Philosophy (L. Phil.) with a thesis: Edith Stein’s Concept of the Human Person as an Embodiment of Spiritual Essence. I planned to return to India, but the Regens Studiorum, Mark Attard O. Carm., suggested that I do a PhD in Philosophy. I agreed with his thought and enrolled for the doctoral cycle in 2017. I decided to continue my interest in Edith Stein and did comparative research with Indian mystical thought. Under the guidance…

Deaconate ordination of Bro. Matteo
Ordinazione diaconale di fr. Matteo On April 25th last, our brother, Matteo Antollini, was ordained a deacon by Archbishop Mgr Francesco Gioia in the evocative Basilica of Santa Maria in Traspontina, literally a few steps from our house. The celebration was attended by many brothers of the Italian Province, to which Fra’ Matteo belongs, and by many friends, family members, priests, deacons, nuns, companions from the Pontifical Gregorian University, parishioners from San Martino ai Monti and Traspontina as well as from Malnate, his home town. Afterwards, there was a beautiful time of celebration and fraternal sharing in the courtyard of our college. We pray that our Brother, Matteo, will live this…

Stella Maris (Aprile 2022)
This is the third number of our journal, which we want to present to our readers. Wondering what I might say in this editorial, I reviewed the editorial I wrote several months ago, and I was struck by two things. The first is that the time of this pandemic is not yet over, and the second is that, we could have predicted that this would be the case and that it is not something that should surprise us. There is, however, something else, which I would never have imagined. In the previous editorial, I wrote about the world being armed with modern military equipment and technology, while the whole of…

Stella Maris (Luglio 2021)
The world is still struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic, which shapes our current reality. It is probable that, for some time, psychologists and sociologists will be able to assess what impact a virus that has spread across the world can have on our psyche, on our daily life and on human attitudes. It is an interesting fact that, just when the whole world is being armored and one country seeks to be better-equipped than another with modern military equipment and we are, collectively, attacked by the enemy against which this modern equipment is completely and totally useless. In the midst of the great discussion on vaccines and whether to be…
